Brad's Home Furnishings was started in 1957 by Bradley "Brad" Bromwell in Vevay, IN where he sold and repaired televisions and appliances. Brad's added furniture and carpet about a year later.

In 1968, Brad's moved to Columbus after a fire destroyed the store in Madison, IN.

Brad's first location in Columbus was at Third and California Street. Then we moved to the Fourth and Franklin Street location, until 1979 when we moved to our current location at 729 Washington Street.

Brad's added the Furniture Gallery location at 538 Washington St. in 1987. This gave Brad's more floor space to be able to show a  wider variety of merchandise in an upscale gallery setting.
