Each coil flexes independently for more sensitivity to body contours, and more durability with less friction. This unit is very comfortable with no border sag or coil feel. This Americana Collection is standard foam encased with a Hardwood Foundation. The coil barrel is even and untappered for firm support. This unit has 100% working wire with every surface part flexing. Open, unknotted coils are more flexible and sensitive to body contours. Smaller coil diameter creates greater surface coverage. Designed for edge support, the barrel of each coil is positioned under the border rod for support all the way to the edge. |

| What Makes Foam have Memory? Savannah & Windsor To get a piece of foam memory, you start with a synthetic polyurethane foam material and add certain types of chemicals which add an increase in weight or density to the foam. With the addition of these chemicals, a non- toxic, visco-elastic foam material is created. However, there are many features along the way that will help determine what type of memory foam you end up with. To understand exactly what differences are found in each final product, we recommend you speaking with a representative of Dutch Craft to insure you have the right memory foam bed to suits you individual needs. Memory Foam Really is Unique, and Has Unique Benefits. There is just nothing like memory foam in the way it conforms to your body and reduces pressure points. That isn't to say that you would want a whole mattress made just of memory foam. Memory foam is just too soft a material and isn't meant to be supportive. So it works best when layered over a firm, supportive material. That is why you will mainly find memory foam as a 2" or 3" topping layer over other supportive foams or springs... In addition, memory foam is temperature sensitive. This means that at lower temperatures it is harder (more viscous), and at higher temperatures it is softer and bouncier (more elastic). Hence the reason memory foam is also known as visco-elastic foam. This temperature sensitive quality accounts for the melting feeling that you get lying down on memory foam, and also accentuates the custom molding affect of the foam.
